The village cricket team storms to victory

The village cricket team stormed to victory in their first outing against a Geoff Moss X!. After the generous gift of a cricket net to the Village Sports field the next obvious step was to get a cricket team together. All sorts leapt at the opportunity to show their skills with a good mix of age and experience! Geoff kindly arranged for us to play on the first XI pitch at Nailsea Cricket Club’s Grove Centre, a venue befitting the occasion. His team batted first and scored 130 in the allotted 30 overs which Tickenham passed with the loss of two wickets.

The day was such a success that we have been challenged to three more games next season – two 20/20 matches and another 30 over game. It is hoped to arrange other fixtures against suitable opposition. Anyone interested (no test match experience necessary!) please contact .
