REMEMBRANCE SERVICE and WW1 COMMEMORATION

Our idea for a cascade of poppies generated a HUGE response and people from Tickenham, friends, family members of all ages and many groups responded with poppies of all shapes and sizes and all shades of red!   The resulting poppy cascade will be displayed outside Tickenham Church in the week leading up to the 11th November.  In the Village Hall foyer there is a framed display of eighteen poppies with the names of those who lost their lives in the two world wars and a book telling you more about each one.  You will need to visit when the hall is in use if you would like to look at the book.  This display will be moved to the Church on Saturday 10th November.

The Remembrance Service and  Commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the WW1 armistice will be held at Tickenham Church on Sunday 11th November at 10.30 a.m.  It will be a very poignant service with eighteen children taking part and special poetry readings.  Please come and remember the eighteen service personnel from Tickenham who lost their lives and all those who served and died in two world wars.  You will be very, very welcome.
