Following their much-applauded visit last year, Bristol’s longest-serving sea shanty group, The Harry Browns, make a welcome return to Tickenham Church on Friday, March 15th.
They will be giving us songs from the sea from their expansive repertoire including contemporary and self-penned numbers.
Formed in the 1980s, they have toured Europe and sung at major festivals at home and abroad. So come along at 7.30 pm and have a fun evening in our lovely Church.
Friday Night Light at St Quiricus & St. Julietta, is on Friday, 25th June at 6.00p.m. The programme of choral music runs from 6.00pm to 7.30pm; there is no liturgy, no hymns, just an opportunity to unwind, to relax and listen to recordings of spiritually uplifting music in our beautiful church, candle-lit for the occasion. You are welcome to stay for the whole programme or for as long as you wish.
Come and join our Patronal Festival Celebration on Sunday 13th June at 10.30am. Be great to see you all on this very special occasion for your village church. To book a seat call 01275 859210 and speak to Annabel.
This meeting will take place in church following the morning service on Sunday 23rd May, beginning at 11.30 a.m. It is your opportunity to have your say about all church matters as as well as to vote for churchwardens and PCC members. If you would like to attend, please wear a facemask and you need to book a place by email to church.office@christchurchnailsea.org.uk If you’ve not already received one, you may get a copy of the church’s annual review by emailing clare@andrew-fraley.com
In common with over 60 church bell towers in our area, Tickenham Church Bell Tower will ring its tenor bell 100 times at midday on Saturday 27 February in memory of Captain Sir Tom Moore. The tenor bell is the largest of the 6 bells in the tower weighing in at over 14 cwt (nearly 3/4 of a ton!) and is nearly 270 years old.
If you think you might like to try bell ringing, call or email our Secretary, Amanda Banks: 07972 696870 / amanda1.banks@btinternet.com
