With a population around 900, Tickenham enjoys good access to the M5 motorway, Portishead, Weston-s-Mare and Bristol. For rail commuters, there is a mainline station at Nailsea. Surrounded by open countryside, Tickenham is famed for some of the loveliest walks in the region.

The village is well served with:

along with a number of garden centres and other local businesses.

A vibrant community has built up in the village with many organisations and societies:

  • Drama group
  • Short mat bowls
  • Twinning society
  • Tickenham Flower Show
  • Ramblers
  • Badminton
  • Parents & Toddlers
  • Social dancing

In 1992, Tickenham twinned with the French town of Aigné (near Le Mans). A popular twinning society has grown up around this cultural connection, with regular meetings, both local and between our English and French families.
