Tickenham’s Annual Parish Meeting will be held on Monday 15th April 2019 at 7.30 p.m. in the Village Hall. As well as the usual Parish Council annual business, there will be opportunity to hear from NATIONAL GRID representatives about the ground surveys and construction programme in advance of works in our village: you will be able to ask questions, including concerns about the works depots and the haul roads. Please put the date in your diaries now and we look forward to seeing you.
Please go to the Parish Council page to see the response of the Parish Council to the JLTP4.
Our Flower Show Schedule 2019 is now available for download.
Final copies will be printed in May and distributed around the village in early June.
Following the information below regarding the Joint Spatial Plan and options for taking traffic from Nailsea to the M5 J20, we understand that the further consultation document will be issued early in February, probably on the 6th. Known as the Joint Local Transport Plan, it is really the detail of the proposals in the Joint Spatial Plan (November 2018).
Cllr Nigel Ashton and appropriate North Somerset Council officers have agreed to attend a meeting for Tickenham residents on MONDAY 4th MARCH 2019 from 6.00 until 7.00 p.m. at the NSC offices, Castlewood, Clevedon. The option of diverting traffic from Hanham Way, Nailsea, to the B3130 near Washing Pound Lane and onward to the M5 will have a significant effect on Tickenham. This further meeting is an opportunity to hear more about the transport options contained in the Joint Local Transport Plan direct from Cllr Ashton and the NSC officers: you can voice your opinions and ask questions. Visitors’ parking at Castlewood is very limited, so please share transport with your neighbours.
The first ever Tickenham Open Gardens Day will be on Sunday 23rd June 2019. There are some wonderful gardens in the village and seven of them will be open to visitors who can expect a real treat including a national collection of passiflora and other climbers – and a fossilised dinosaur footprint!
Parking, tickets and refreshments (including cream teas) will be available at the village hall (where there is also a children’s play area); limited parking will also be available at some of the gardens. Entry is £3.50 which covers all the gardens, £1 for children under 16 and under 5s free. You can purchase tickets in advance from Vena Prater on 07740 085 015, at the village hall on the day, and at the first garden that you visit. Brochures will be available shortly.
