Mrs Browning leaves after 25 service at Tickenham School

On Friday May 10th, Mrs Browning and her capable hands handed in her mop and bucket to leave for pastures new. At the Friday celebration service, the hall was packed with children, parents and staff past & present to wish her a fond farewell. The children had learnt their own leavers song and sang it beautifully for her. There were few dry eyes in the house.

The children and staff will miss her dearly. We wish her the very best for the future.

Another successful market day

The bunting & balloons survived and the rain/wind didn’t dampen numbers too much. A good day had by all at the May Market, hot drinks and bacon rolls a plenty thanks to Lizzie, Debi & Tom
Always good to see stallholders running out of stock so make sure you arrive early next month to ensure YOU don’t miss out.

NEXT Month: Market & Cafe on 8th of June includes a CAR BOOT held in back field. Contact Phil Collard for more information.

New outdoor stalls added to the village market

The monthly event is held at Tickenham Village Hall and is organised by parents and staff at Tickenham Primary School, with all proceeds put back into the school.

In a bid to promote the market, new co-ordinator Lisa Collard has begun signing up people willing to hold outdoor stalls, including organic fruit and vegetable producer Mark Cox, from Barley Wood Walled Garden.

Lisa said: “Outside stalls seem to have worked for other markets so we thought we would try it. We get lots of stall holders willing to take part so we just now need to increase our footfall.”
